  1. in 90s we play this just not fantasy. more like modern mining drawing game

  2. I wish I knew what the draw the base game and turn the paper over and mark the spot game was called! I played that too!

  3. That game you talked about playing in school with the bases… I remember playing that too. Completely forgot about it til just now. thanks for sparking the memory! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. That paper thing you showed at the beginning is so similar to what I did with my friends.

  5. Hey, these are neat. Reminds me of those moments at primary school where they'd instruct you to draw or write certain things down somewhere.

  6. Nice one. I am buying this for a friend or two.

  7. Ended up buying the game on a whim after watching Kruggsmash play it on his channel, was pleasantly surprised to find that my order came with a bonus .PDF version. I ended up playing it all weekend: by the time I set it down I had reached the thirteenth or so level down, defeated an ancient monstrosity that I'd headcanon'd as a gigantic Siamese lamprey-centaur (and her skeletal entourage one level down,) discovered a sleeping dragon and it's lootpile, and pilfered the the legendary ax Hordereaver from a lost and forgotten temple altar. Even if I never find the Void Crystal, I'd say that Gem Kohldur has been a successful venture as a Dwarven stronghold.

Hey love the channel and the vid… can I ask what camera you use for shots like this? thanks!

  9. This was what we did in the 80s.. My buddies and I would draw and draw and draw on grid paper, such villains lairs, complexes, etc, playing all the usual RPGs of that time… D&D, Top Secret, Traveller, Star Trek, Star Wars, etc…

  10. I used to doodle things like this all the time in middle school. I'd place hidden doors all over the place behind furniture and drawl out all sorts of details.

  11. Thank you for the excellent video and introduction to Anna Blackwell's games. Solo RPGs are a new concept to this old gamer so it's great to see all the creativity in this part of the hobby universe. Could you share the source of the graph paper you use in the video if possible? I've never encountered sheets that size and it looks great for playing delve.

  12. Nice, I've had these books on my shelf for a while now. Have only played Delve and haven't played it enough. I'm also not so down with the combat – you including it or ignoring it?

  13. Please make a play through of the game. I have the Delve pfd and am lost.

  14. Perhaps you can do a play through video of this? At least for a few rounds? The post card draw phase is a little unclear as to the building/recruiting/etc phases and to see how you do these would be helpful.

  15. Itโ€™s been more than 20 years since I finished high school, and that eraser head (or lack there of) at the start of the video, is still worse than scratching the black board. Kids and their laptops will never know the feeling.

Thanks for the heads up on this. This game looks fun. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

  16. I love that you've made this mythology around the insects teaching you healing magic. Was that potentially a Good Magic result giving you the Valkyria or Nurses Sigils?

Also, I love the idea of that little war game you did at the start, that's pretty awesome. Gonna play that next time the internet conks out!

  17. I got the Delve kickstart to and im waiting for my books to arrive. Im in your side, wanting to see some gameplay. It will be hard to find becouse of Delve as a name

  18. Thank you so much for this video. I love seeing little solo games like this that I can play outside or in bed. I already purchased the pdf version of this game after watching your video. The game you played in school is also really creative and interesting. I wish I had friends that cool when I was a kid lol.

  19. Excellent stuff. I really love the first Dungeon Keeper. Still the best game on my list after all these years and my gateway to anything fantasy related. I remember roleplaying with my cousin based on the game. But then we lose the CD for some reasons and I wish I could have developed something like this to fill that void.
I guess all I need to do now is learn how to draw!

  20. @The Dungeon Dive – Interesting! Are there any other games with similar map-making mechanics where you draw your map on-the-go? A few titles I find somewhat similar: D100 Dungeon, Four Against Darkness, Micro Chapbook RPG, 3 Dice Dungeon, Dice Quest, Wyrd: The Descent.

  21. These seem cool. Unfortunately any time a game incorporates regular playing cards it kills it thematically for me.

  22. Oh wow screams dwarf fortress but in PNP fashion. That's awesome!
I agree though, some additional artwork or an nice example of a game, would have helped

  23. Hey, thanks for this! I just paused the video and ordered these 3 games ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜

  24. Just discovered your channel while looking for info on Umbra/Delve and I was immediately gratified to see you've used the Ultima Underworld artwork for your intro! I will be checking out some more on that basis alone, cheers.
